The Committee have reviewed the Society's competition rules in light of the ongoing national and regional lockdowns, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and their impact on our ability to collect prints and arrange for their judging.
Members having the opportunity to amend their Annual Exhibition entries up until its deadline for entries which is hereby deferred from the previously announced date of the 7th of March 2021 to the 28th of March 2021.
Notice is hereby given that the Committee have modified the General Competition Rules and Annual Exhibition Rules, with changes coming into effect from the 28th of March 2021.
To allow for the temporary withdrawal of the Print sections—without having to revise Annual Exhibition Rule 5 and undo this revision from year to year—the Committee have introduced a new General Competition Rule to allow for the withdrawal of one or more sections or media in a season's Photographer of the Year or Annual Exhibition.
In order to compensate for the withdrawal of the Print sections from the 2021 Annual Exhibition, and considering its success in last year's one-off competitions, the Committee have introduced an Altered Reality section and increasing the maximum number of entries across all sections of a media from 30 to 40.
The increase in the maximum number of entries provides for the same average of 10 images per section as could previously be entered with only three sections for a media; it also allows for more images to be entered even if not entering the new Altered Reality section, up to the existing limit of 15 images per section.
